Hi,

Does anyone know what the letters BT stand for in parish transcripts?

e.g. 1786   Mar-19   Drewit   Anne   d John & Jane   [BT Drewett]

Bishops Transcript...

Possibly the person/people doing the transcription crossed-reffed the register with the BT and saw a small difference in spelling and has noted it.

I would agree with Dawn and I have seen that in a couple of places before and presumed it was because of slight difference in spellings.
