I am trying to find confirmation of where my latest family research has led me:
on the 1881 Census for High Street, Swinefleet (RG11/4700/4/2)

in IGI Batch C006022, Whitgift, Yorkshire, England
Father: JOHN COWLIN
Mother: JANE
MARY COWLIN, Christening: 22 JUL 1814
WILLIAM COWLIN, Christening: 16 SEP 1817
FRANCES COWLIN, Christening: 23 MAY 1823
SARAH COWLIN, Christening: 10 MAR 1816
JOHN COWLIN, Christening: 16 MAR 1825
and in the same batch
Father: JOHN COWLING
Mother: JANE
ELIZABETH COWLING, Christening: 03 MAR 1827
ELIZABETH COWLING, Christening: 09 APR 1830
WATSON COWLING, Christening: 16 MAY 1832
JANE COWLING, Christening: 29 JUL 1834
I can't find a marriage in the IGI for either John Cowlin or John Cowling to a Jane or a birth for a Frances Cowling.
So, is Frances Cowlin in 1823 the same Frances Cowling who married Richard in 1846? I am assuming that the people in the IGI Batch are all the same family and am hoping the 1841 Census can help.

Thanks for the lookup, Smith Watson Cowling & Sarah also show up in the IGI Batch, possibly some relation to John...
Jane and her children certainly match up to the IGI batch, I assume the Elizabeth christened in 1827 didn't survive... but no sign of John or the Cowlin children.... dang I was hoping Frances was still "at home".
Anyone have any other information or suggestion please?

Ahhhh on FreeBMD there is a death for a John Cowling Q3 1840 Goole XXIII 144, no age, but that could be why John isn't with Jane on the census...
