Hi,
Further to my other post below, can someone look up Richard & Frances Cavill on the 1851/61/71 census please?
This is them on the 1881 Census for High Street, Swinefleet (RG11/4700/4/2)
Richard CAVILL, Head, 62, B. Holme On Spalding, Yorks
Frances CAVILL, Wife, 57, B. Reedness, Yorks
Hannah CAVILL, Daughter, 24, B. Swinefleet, Yorks
Louisa CAVILL, Daughter, 20, B. Swinefleet, Yorks
Arthur CAVILL, Son, 18, B. Swinefleet, Yorks
John Thomas CAVILL, Son, 13, B. Swinefleet, Yorks

thanks for the look ups, I think I follow. Interestingly I had done a search for the Cavill surname in Goole on FreeBMD and come up with these other births:
Mary Elizabeth Cavill Q1 1847 Goole XXIII 253
George Cavill Q4 1848 Goole XXIII 246
Jane Ann Cavill Q2 1851 Goole XXIII 319
John Watson Cavill Q2 1853 Goole 9c 120
Sarah Frances Cavill Q1 1855 Goole 9c 487
it certainly looks like George, Jane Ann and Sarah Frances are the same family... more avenues to chase.
Do you have Richard and Frances ages in 1861 & 71 please? I am trying to find Richards Birth; 1818/19 from his age on the 1881 census or 1819/20 from the 1851.... I will PM you too

Further to the Mary Elizabeth Cavill I found on FreeBMD
on the 1861 census could Mary E be aged 14?
on the 1871 census could Mary A be Mary E?
don't know why she isn't with the family on the 1851 census though....
Also there is a death for John Watson Cavill; Q3 1854 Goole 9c 315, so he could be another child too.

that could be an interesting find, I searched IGI for Richard and found in Batch C012082 Richard Cavil christened 17 Jan 1820 only parent Elizabeth Cavil.
I wonder if Elizabeth went on to marry George Wreple....

Hi Diana,
wow! well Richard Cavill & Frances Cowling are two of my GGG Grandparents through their daughter Louisa who married John Phillipson in 1887. Strangely that was his second marriage, his first marriage was to Hannah Carr Wressell (1859-1886) in 1879. A cousin to Louisa maybe? I haven't traced her further as yet.
I would love to see any other information you have for this part of the family, I've PM'd you too
