Hi please could anyone please help I am trying to find information on
William Bullock c1816 Married Jane Brown c1816
William was born Wingham,Northumberland,England
Jane was born Newcastle Upon Tyne, England
and also whether William had siblings & who was his parents .

I will post this link from the Durham board .. to let others see that William and Jane have been discussed elsewhere.

You have the birthplace of William from a census taken in 1851 .. but in 1861 the birthplace is Ryton .. which is in Durham .. ?
I'm afraid I've checked for a place called Wingham and it doesn't appear to exist ..
Just going to check the census information for 1851 ..

It does say Northumberland, but I'm not too sure it does in fact say Wingham, although this is the place the index states .. I will copy it out and let you see ..

Looking at this .. the last letter in fact looks more like a faded 'd' as opposed to the letter 'm' .. ?

That's fine Alison .. I'm so sorry, I wasn't being critical of where it had been posted .. but sometimes it helps to give people as much information as possible.
Consequently I thought it might help to let other people be aware the birthplace of William wasn't quite so cut and dried as first thought ..

I've just checked William born c 1816 on the later census returns .. and they state he was born in Ovingham ..

I've had a good look at the page and I'm also sure that it's Ovingham. It would also fit with them living in Ryton on that census. It's not far away

The census details are consistant with an approx date of 1812 and all state Ovingham as William's birthplace ..

I wonder if he was their second child named William .. in 1805 there is also this one ..

They appear to have married 10th May 1802 at Ovingham.
Also, did William jnr, marry Jane Brown there on 4th July 1835?

It might be a long shot but could these could be the parents of the William who married Elizabeth .. ?
