Hi Toni

Trouble is the one I need to check, the one I can't establish is the marriage I can't find.  The one I can find - William and Sarah I don't need to establish, although it would be useful to know who William's parents were!

Ting - idea - however if I can see son James born 1793's marriage cert that might just have a clue to his parentage and who this William and Hannah are!

It may contain a father Kerry - very unlikely to show mother - unless she was a witness. Could be some siblings for a witness - that might help.

I have just reminded myself - I have some births from Staffordshire, where the grandmother is given as the childs mother, rather than the mother. This seems to have been an error on the part of the vicar. Is something like this possible here?

Well I know Sarah Turner's parents - Edward and Charity Turner but have not found William's as yet but anything is possible.

morming girls

Just had a thought  Grin

What if the marriage is mistranscribed. William and Hannah's first child b c 1793, so marriage has to be near that time.  Maybe we can check for Williams without the surname , married in Lingfield.... he may be under Taulkner/Saulkner/Laulkner....  Undecided Undecided
