Thanks for looking. John's father was a John and he possibly had a brother James (1826).but I cannot identify the other Welhams . Can you see their occupations which may help?

Is it the John Welham(30) in the 1851 cencus married to Ann who is a Blacksmith..Is he the one you are looking for..
John(40)on the previous post by Jebber is by 1851 still living in Langham and still an Ag Lab. He is indexed as Willam also living next door is a John Willam age 24 is also an Ag Lab

PS My John Welham was a fisherman living in Barking in '51.
If so this looks like it could be him but im not sure

In 1851 Mary is a widow and there is a death in 1841 June q Ipswich for a John Welham but there is no way of knowing if this John was Marys husband.

Thanks again. There are so many 'John and Mary' Welhams it is always going to be difficult, with any degree of certainty, to locate the right one. There are nine marriages of John Welham to a Mary between 1822 and 1838 in Suffolk alone. (IGI records). In the 1851 census John's birth was given as Spruston Suffolk, and in 1861 Sprotton Suffolk which I have interpreted as Sproughton. John Wellum was christened 1/1/1823 Sproughton to John & Mary. He married in Gt Ilford 1845, occ fisherman and father John, Labourer. Any John aged 15 to 20 somewhere between Ipswich and Romford could be the one. I found two John Welhams in Tendering. Can you see them?
