First, I want to thank you for all the contributions you made to my inquiry. Thanks to you and others, I now have a comprehensive understanding of the Shinkfields going back 11 generations from my granddaughter to John Shinkfill born c1710.
James John Shinkfield (baptised 09 Feb 1823) tied into another family posted on the Internet from British Columbia, Canada and Matthias & Tamsden tied into yet another family tree (the Newell family).
Second, one of your contributions (Thomas Shinkfield) indicated the same day and year as the record I located at www.dorset-opc.com/SwanageFiles/SwanageBaps1812-1840.htm but you transcribed March, while I recorded June - Now, I can't get into that site anymore (error message) to see which was correct. Would you mind checking your source pls?
You questioned whether we had the right family & why Thomas didn't show in the 1841 census & I've since discovered that he died 08 Apr 1840.
Sorry it took until now to thank you but the information was coming so fast I couldn't find the time to update all my records & check out the various connections. Actually, I had marked the request complete before I saw your input - inexperience!
Thanks again - Now I wish all my other lines were in Dorset!
