Hi Orinoco and Mike, All I managed to find last night was a Eighth Avenue in Oldham district, very near to Hollinwood Cemetery. Neither Trafford Park nor Hollinwood are close to Heaton Park and when I googled Eighth Avenue, Heaton Park, I ended up in Newcastle on Tyne!
Here's a possibility though, there is or was a Heaton Cemetery in Bolton, near Queens Park. I have a 1970s A-Z that shows 1st Avenue, 2nd Ave and so on up to Sixth Avenue which is still there. I wonder if it was there but numbers seven and eight have been knocked down?
Go on google maps or similar and search 6th Avenue, Bolton BL1, see what you think?

Hi, Barbara and all Heaton Prefabbers.
I'm not sure what to make of this. Maybe you prefab experts can tell me!
Were there prefabs at Trafford Park too?
I've just looked in my Kelly's 1953/54 and for eighth Avenue it says "See Trafford Park".
I've never come across a reference like this in the book before.
When I looked at Trafford Park, there are loads of tiny streets listed, many with names which are basically a number, almost New York Style! Many are only twenty houses say.
I'll write up some more details but it might be tomorrow at this rate. I can digi-photo those couple of pages or so for anyone who would like, but easier by email.
Any specific requests, feel free.
Best wishes
Emms

PS
Heading is Trafford Park(17). Trafford Road, Old Trafford. (Letters should be addressed Trafford Park, Manchester)
Oh, by the way, my mistake, it's Eighth Street, not Avenue.
Reading this, it looks like a system where the Streets run across the Avenues. There are twelve Streets that I can see, but I can only see Avenues up to four.
Good luck!

Hi all Heaton Park "Prefabers" Put your search engines and brains into neutral. I have found my Eighth Ave, Heaton Park. It was in the "White Rose Camp" near Middleton Road and Sheepfoot Lane junction, on or near the site of the prefabs. I have it on a map from 1932. It is als listed as "The Huttings" on the map. Thank you all for your help, I am now going to start a new thread for "The White Rose Camp" Regards Mike.
