Hi Spec,

I see this death registration - looks a strong possible, doesn't it?
Vivian Claude Bailey
Birth Date 25 Feb 1920
Death Aug 1987
Registration district Kingsclere and Whitchurch

and the birth:
Vivian C Bailey
Jun 1920  Kingsclere 2c 549
Mother's Maiden Name Butler

Now to find a Bailey / Butler marriage

There's one tempting marriage in Kingsclere but I can't promise it's them ... only Vivian's birth cert would confirm

Marriage Sep 1915 Kingsclere  2c 780
Arthur J Bailey - Gertrude M Butler

The 1901 census shows a Gertrude Mary Butler age 14 living and born Kingsclere

Oh i say thanks for that Vivien has been a bit of a mystery
over a number of years would you be able to find out if Arthur
Bailey was born or brought up at chaddleworth if he was the son
of Caleb Bailey and Jane Pounds you have come up trumps for me
many thanks spec

There are too many possibles in BMD and on census! You'd need the marriage cert to check his father's name  Sad
