Elizabeth PENGELLY - Tavistock

Hello,
Looking for any details on Elizabeth Pengelly (possibly middle initial T but not too sure) born approx 1807 Tavistock.  I know she married Richard Pearse in 1826 at Buckland Monachorum but would love to go back another generation.

I may be able to help this weekend. I have moved to Bere Alston & am popping down to look at records in Tavistock library on Saturday.

I know that I have to look at Buckland & Tavistock so I can see what I can do.

Can I just ask if you are sure Elizabeth was born in Tavi or couls it have been Buckland?

Hello Suzanne,
That would be great if you could manage that.  In the 1851,61 and 71 census it states that she was born in Tavistock but she got married to Richard Pearse in 1826 at Buckland Monachorum, so I am not really 100 per cent where she was born but would assume Tavistock.

Sorry for the delay but I have been pretty busy!

I had a really good look & couldn't find your Elizabeth. I checked all Tavi churches. If I ever get the chance I'll have another look at Buckland's records.

Many thanks for looking anyway Suzanne.  It was really kind of you.  Somehow I am not surprised that she is not in the Tavistock records.  I have quite a few Pengelly's in my tree further on : her son married two! and they all come from Buckland Monachorum so I wouldn't be surprised if she fits into their trees somewhere along the line.
