help with trade please

I have just received my g g grandfather's marriage certificate, dated Jan
he being Joseph Cockroft b 1815 Ovenden, Halifax. On it is
hsi father John Cockroft born, I suppose around 1790. It says his
trade is manufacturer, but of what I don't know. How can i find a list of the Halifax Cockrofts manufacturers.
Only clue I have is that my g g grandmother Miranda
Cockroft born 1854 Ovenden married James North and
I beleive he worked at Dean Clough Mills at some time.
Could there ba connection please. Only witness on the
certificate Wm Rushworth and Martha Jane Ingham.
Trying to establish which John Cockroft this is.

Have you found them on 1841/1851 census?  Might get some clues there.

Hi Nany Jan,

Someone found his son Joseph but not sure if John is there.
And anyway unsure of who is wife is.  Joseph is living in
Jammy Green, Ovenden. with his wife Betty.
