If you mean does the program know it is already installed on your old laptop and therefore stop you installing on your new laptop, no.

Install it on your new laptop, ensure that it is working ok. Then uninstall from your old laptop.

You are only allowed to have the program on one computer at a time by the licensing agreement.

Cath

When you try to install, what is the exact message you get?

Does your new computer have XP or is it Vista? (Or is it an Macintosh?)

Aha! Vista! - that might well be the root of your problem.  Undecided

If you have problems installing the NBI on a Vista computer I suggest to read
http://www.ffhs.org.uk/projects/nbi/nbi-vista.php

Some NBI 3 facts
1st October 2008 deadline for data to be presented for NBI 3
NBI 3 to appear on DVD
The pain in the neck data protection will not be on NBI 3 (this should lead to less problems using the prog.)
NBI 3 should have between 16 and 17 million records as opposed to 13.2 million on NBI 2 and 5.4 million of NBI 1.
Cheers

My thanks also, Guy.  I was having a similar problem with the BVRI and a new computer, but the instructions on your very useful link have helped me to fix it.
