Looking for William Mills
« on: Tuesday 06 May 08 23:51 BST (UK) »

Hi All,

I'm trying to verify the birth and parents of my 3G grandfather, William Mills.  According to the census he was born in Worcester in around 1829.  According to his Marriage Certificate (to Mary Ann Cecil) his fathers name is Thomas Mills, whose occupation was listed as a Tiler.

I have found a William Mills born in Rock, with a father Thomas, whose occupation in the 1841 census is given as Hallier, which I think is a misspelling of Hellier, an obscure term for a roofer/tiler/slater.

If anyone has access to Worcester Parish records I'd be really grateful f they could check that there isn't a William with a Father, Thomas actually from Worcester itself.

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

Kevin
