1901 - 22 Wharf (? - hard to read) Rd, Sale, Cheshire
John S. H. Collings Head Wdr. 52 b. Plymton, Devon Ruth Collings Dau. S 23 b. Davyhulme, Lancs. Harry Collings Son S 17 b. Urmston, Lancs. Wm. Collings Son 15 b. Ashman Mersey, Cheshire Cecil J. Sale, Cheshire.
The initial 'P' after Bertram's name could be P, G, or J so pretty sure this is yours. Checked on births and only 2 Bertrams born in Cheshire - plain Bertram b.1894 Ashton under lyne and your Bertram John and found the plain Bertram with his parents.
Ref. RG13 3324 135 32
Will try to find John Henry now.

Cannot find a likely John Henry Taylor. Are you certain of his father - do you have the birth certificate of Bertram? Wondering if Bertram is actually the son of Charlotte M G Taylor! Followed her back via the census and her parents appear to be a William Taylor and Ann Taylor living at Stoke Dameral, Devon in 1861 and 1871 and she appears to be their only child - aged 10 months in 1861.
As she was born Devon, as was half-brother John Thomas Henry Collings (the 'S' on 1901 census should be a 'T'), then John Henry Taylor would be likely to be too. However, although there is a plain John in Sale in 1901 he was born Manchester and doesn't appear to fit in with either of the above.
Best I can do I'm afraid.

Hi again
You will really have to get Bertram's birth certificate to be able to work back any further - if his father really was a John Henry Taylor (unfortunately, people often lied when they didn't have one) you will need to know who his mother was to enable you to work back. There are umpteen marriages for John Henry Taylor's plus umpteen John Taylor's (people didn't always state second names or initials) who were bricklayers on 1901 Census - with such a common surname the birth certificate is a must. How lucky that Bertram was a relatively unusual name in those days enabling you to easily find his birth. If you need the reference it is:
Mar qtr 1895 - Altrincham - 8a 213
Good luck.
