Hi all.
I know I ask some impossible questions at times, but you all help me a great deal and thank you...
I'm looking for information about this man and other than his birth, I cannot find out much to say the least...
He was born on 19th October 1891 in West Ham. Now the correct way to spell his surname is HEINS, but there are many other variants. In the 1901 census his name is spelt HEINES and other family members have been spelt HINDS, HINES, HINZE and so on...
Just very recently, I have been given a photo by Frederick's brother Alfred (No longer with us). On the back of this photo is clearly written "My brother Fred's wife Elsie".
Can someone please find out about there marriage for me. I have tried BMD with no success. I would imagine that the year would have been around1912ish.
I know that this Fred served in the army in WW1, as again, I have a photo of him in uniform.
I also believe that this Frederick went and stayed in the USA and never returned.
Other than what I have said, I know no more about him.
Please put your "thinking caps" on and help me...
Many, many thanks, F H

Hi,
Do you know if Frederick and Elsie had any children; if so do you know roughly when they were born?
Could Frederick have married in USA? Could Elsie be a 2nd wife?
Have you looked for his service papers; could show next-of-kin ?
Sorry it's all questions!

Hello nanny jan and thank you.
No, I don't know if they had children.
Again, don't know the answer to that.
Or this one...
How can I find out about his service papers, can I do that on line ?

Hi,
Some WW1 papers are on www.ancestry.co.uk but the majority were destroyed in the bombing in WW2. I'm assuming Frederick served in the British Army.
If you can't access the papers I'm sure there'll be a kind Rootschatter who would look for you.

Hi
Yes, it was our British Army.
I have just tried to access those as you say, but with no luck.
So if some kind root's chatter has got access to Ancestry I would be grateful. At that time he would have been living in Trinity Road, Canning Town.
Thank you, F H
