Can anyone help me with this camera. It has been working fine although I have only just mastered the basics. First problem has arisen. When I went to use it this morning on AUTO there was no picture on the LCD screen. I could still use it with the viewfinder and when I replay the photgraphs it is fine. Played around a little bit and the LCD screen works on C (custom setting) What am I doing wrong??
Thanks wini

I have a canon 400d, and this sometimes happens if you press 'display' which can change it to black . . .

Hi Wini
It is exactly as LD says. The disp button is at the bottom of the three to the right hand side of the display screen. Press it three times and it has different settings.
I bought the S5 last August and like it bvery much, wasn't sure at first but now that I am learning to use the different settings I am finding I am getting some great pictures.

Me too Wini and I hate the fact the manual is not a printed book.
I particualry like the super macro, its allowing me to take some brilliant shots of flowers in my garden really close up - like my hellebore picture.
Have fun and enjoy learning.
