For this posting and your Harper one I think you might get somewhere by giving more info such as forenames and a few dates.

no problem,on the neales i am looking for descendands of REGINALD NEALE b1902 stroud there is no data on his marrage as yet but his children are george 1912 stroud. i decent from gilbert neale 1910 stroud & hilda noyes 1910 possibly stroud. my earlyest on the neales are joseph neale c1747 gloucestershire,& jemima holtham 1747 possibly tayton, oxfordshire. my main interest here is seeking possible rellies based on this data.on the harpers i got ** nee harper her farther was edward harper born c1895 somerset. my key interest here is to find any living rellies on ** 's  generation & more on her grandfarther & grandmother born i beleave in wiltshire around 1848 .there is no firm data on there names only possible THOMAS HARPER married to a SARAH. as soon as i can comfirm this can i put in place his children to include edward thomas harper. but as again my main aim is to find any living rellies to this data

** name of possible living person removed to protect their privacy and prevent identity theft

No problem?

I think you have.  Born 1902 child George born 1912.

That's more than a problem.  It's not possible.

I suggest you go to http://www.genuki.org.uk/ and do some reading.  There's lots of help there that you seem to need.

You should not look for descendants who might be alive.

Hi Familyman

What Chas is trying to say ...

By all means post, as you have done, for descendants of your family.  It helps to give lots of detail so that we can establish which family unit you are interested in.

Rootschat doesn't allow posts about living people but others can contact you via the Personal Message system if they have such info.

Good luck with your search

Kind regards, Arranroots  Wink

I second CasH on both counts.  You need to work backwards from what you have DEFINITELY. You will need to get birth certificates of any ancestors you are CERTAIN of, to see who their parents might be.

Reading up on how to get started with family history would be a very good idea.

Sometimes family historians find relatives who are living; this is a side-effect of our hobby.  It is, however, not generally our main aim, which is to look back at where our families came from and how they developed.  It is a great and addictive hobby.

However, if your main aim is just to find living relatives, you might want to use other methods and tracing services.

Good Luck!

ok i am taking al areas of this onboard. hobbys like this does cost money so i cannot go out & buy documents etc so most of what i have done has been past on by others willing to help at the time,so what data i have gathered to date is only as reliable as passed on to me not as writen paper documents.i am as a whole working on 5 different trees they are GEVAUX/HARPER/NEALE/WHITE & JACKSON if i took gevaux & neale line out as they have a fair bit of information already but not nessaerselly documented prove. the trees yet to be started properly are HARPER & JACKSON but harper would be my key start 1st. living rellies is good to me as if i can find them they would be the source for building what i can of my tree, even if i only had there word for it,again i would need document proof to back it up,thats also time & money, sadly i have lack off at the moment.my harper interest at the moment is to find information my farthers dad & his farther & there children, that MAY hopefully bring in new information, but then it may not.i thought about using this site & others for this reason, although to date genes reunited has proof sucessful in its own right. i appologise here & now if any posts of mine have caused missunderstanding.. thank you

Hi Familyman

Thanks for explaining and no apology required - except perhaps from people who have forgotten what it is like to be new here - manners please chaps!  Roll Eyes Tongue

Seriously, we are anxious to help but you need to present your questions in a form that we can use.

We need facts with as much detail as possible.

Try to keep to just one thread per family, at least to start with.  Use the ones you already have to post more detail (not living people though).

Let's see where that takes us, shall we?
