does any 1 cover santa monica area.? also does 1 get any info from;twety centuary fox studios, as my step sister worked for them around 1937-onwards, in dress dept. also lived in santa monica same years, her name was= gertrude hilda shepherd, born =a/june. 1899, london. believed to have married, the name of ;barton, but not sure of name, & weather she married in england/america,, any info welcomed.

Just had a go on that site jorose gave
If you just put in Gertrude H Barton, and year of birth, the result comes up. The one found was born on 11/03/1899 so could very easily be your Gertie that was registered in the June quarter 1899. Looking good.

HI
Just checked this one out on Ancestry USA and this Gertrude H BARTON was actually born in IOWA.
So sadly it looks like it's back to the drawing board.

:)hi wendy, dont know of any family, but that she worked at -TWENTY/C/FOX STUDIOS,IN DRESS MAKE DEPT, & WA THERE DURING THE WAR , SHE MAY HAVE MARRIED IN AMERICA, AS HAVE NOT TRACED HER MARRIAGE HERE, [ENGLAND. There are quite a lot of Gertrude (Hilda) Bartons and Gertrude (Hilda) Shepherds on the California voter lists for the same period at Ancestry. Too many for me to scroll through without a bit more info (having spent HOURS on it before I found my Newark Burton), but you might like to try!

Do you know when Gertrude went out to the USA?
Did her parents go out there with her?
