I have been approached by an archivist friend who would like to find out more about an Imogen Reid.
In the early 1920s she wrote some letters to The Times where she said that she was from Canford Manor. The Manor had just been sold by the Guest family and was about to become a school; she probably lived in the village of Canford Magna on land (previously) owned by Canford Manor.
A brief look through the censuses, a 1915 Dorectory for Dorset and freebmd has brought up nothing (except a marriage of Imogen Josephine Strong to George Palmer Reed in 1869).
Can anyone else shed light on her before he plans a trip to the record office?

Thanks - I did look briefly through the telephone directories, but couldn't find anything (but I didn't look very hard).
(And I live in Canford Magna!).
