What to buy advice please

Hi There

I am wanting to buy some Parish Registers, in book or CD form, for the areas covering East / West Farleigh and Barming areas of Kent......

Could someone please point may to the correct ones ?
I think I am pretty safe in assuming that Marriages 1730's -1837 ish, would have taken place at St Mary's Maidstone, but what about Baptism' and burials.

And what about St Mary Magdalen, Woolwich ?

I just want o make sure these area's will be covered on anything I purchase, as I do not know Kent , very well...Yet !!

The parish church at that time for Maidstone was All Saints.  East & West Farleigh and Barming have their own parish churches.

The Reseach Planning Aid is useful to see what records are available where:

Hi Jeannie

I'm not quite sure what you mean.  As Bearkat says, events for East Farleigh, West Farleigh, Barming etc. would have taken place in those parishes (churches)/villages not in the town of Maidstone.  You should find the following page helpful http://www.nwkfhs.org.uk/parindex.htm

So very much. That is exactly the advice I was looking for .

I have only been doing this part of the family for a week, and because I know so little of the area, wasn't quite sure which direction to take....

I will now look at the sites you have recommended....and get out my credit card
