Tati,
You did very well to find the Sowerbys on Census 1841.
Ancestry has transcribed and indexed the family as SINSKY.
Anyway it is the right family... on C1871 Anthony junior gives his birth place as "West House(s)"
This was part of Byker, All Saints Parish, Newcastle.
The men of the familywere working in the chemical industry hygiene products etc.... Alkali labourers.

Hi friends, I must apologise for not getting back my BT land line went down Friday morning and has just been mended today. Sorry Willow I see what you ment about Anthonys parents coming from Cumbria - once I saw your 1851 census I realized you were right. Is there any page numbers for his birth cert so that I can try and order it again? There must be a record of it somewhere, Thanks again to the three of you for your help and sorry about not being able to respond to your posts until now. Jess
