Looking for My Grandmother's Mother's side of the Family...
My GrandMother
Sarah Rhodes (nee Cain) b:Nov. 1899 in Liverpool, Lancashire England.
d:June 1999 in Kingston, Ontario Canada. Married: Sept.1927 to Joseph Rhodes b:Sept.1883 in Leeds, Yorshire England. Both shipped from England 2 Canada. Joseph age:5 in 1888 & Sarah age:11 in 1912.
Her Father: Peter Cain b:1873 in Wigan, Lancashire England d: married:Sept.1892
Her Mother: Elizabeth Marsden b:1875 Liverpool, Lancashire England. d:??
Children: Mary A. b:1895, Sarah b:1899, Joseph b:?? & Emma b:?? maybe others but not known

Here's a possible for Thomas in 1861:
Grocer's Shop, Vernon St, Parr
John MARSDEN - Head - 41 - Baker
Anne MARSDEN - Wife - 39
William MARSDEN - Son - 18 - Attorney's Clerk
Ann MARSDEN - Dau - 16
Thomas MARSDEN - Son - 12 - Shop Boy
John MARSDEN - Son - 11 - Shop Boy
Isaac MARSDEN - Son - 7 - Scholar
Robert MARSDEN - Son - 1
However, as Thomas' age fluctuates on the different censuses, it would be best to confirm his father's name/occupation by getting his marriage cert:

Hi
I am related to your "possible" Thomas.
However, the "possible" Thomas is supposed to be a "Joiner" not a "Shoemaker".
I have the information you need for John, father of Thomas the Joiner. in town of Parr.
John was in Liverpool until he moved about 20 miles to Parr,outside Liverpool.
In summary,
John MARSDEN (baker) married Ann THRELFALL in Liverpool.
His son Robert became a shoemaker.
This John, baptised 16 May 1819 was 6th of 10 children born to Thomas MARSDEN, born 1782, and Marjorie BALL. I visited their separate unmarked graves in Toxteth Cemetery, Liverpool.
I can trace family of Rev. Thomas MARSDEN, Vicar of Walton Church, (Liverpool) 1666-1720 from 1100's to mid 1700's.
I can also trace his cousins James / Joseph MARSDEN, well known brushmakers in Liverpool in late 1700's from 1100's, to present times.
I have been trying to link my Thomas, born 1782, into this Liverpool family, so far still not complete.
I am descended from Isaac, brother of John.
I have also traced descendents of two other siblings.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
