Hi 
I was wondering if anyone can help me, I have a Elizabeth Young(married name Payne) in the family my 2x great grandmother born between 1810-1813 in Horne,Surrey. I don't need any infro on her after she was married, but if anyone has any infro on her before she was married that would be great, i'm specfily looking for her mother and father and any sisters and brothers she had, thank you in advance, i will be very grateful for any infromation anyone can give me.

Do you have her marriage certificate, that would give the name of her father. Of course it maybe before 1837.

No unfoturely I don't have her marriage certficate only her death certficate, its so annoying, because I can't find much on her before she was married, which i would really love to find out as I have no infro on the youngs and plenty on the Paynes. By the way I went down to the east grinstead museum yesterday to look in their reserch room to see if I could find any more paynes, but it was abit of a wasted jounary I did'nt find anythink there, any well I ve found quite alot already, how are u getting on with redoing your Payne bit of your family tree.

Just found her marriage on the Sussex Marriage Index - Edward Payne 12 November 1836 at Worth in Sussex. I can't remember whether parents names show on marriage certs before 1837. But Chcichester Record Office would be the place to ask.
Mine came to a standstill again. I found John born 1807's father Nicholas but it appears he wasn't born in Lingfield, possibly East Grinstead so I need to look at the East Grinstead records. At least I'm on the right track now.

I'm not sure where you live Sarah but the Horne records are kept at Lingfield if that is close to you http://www.eastsurreyfhs.org.uk/lingfieldcentre.htm
I know that because I searched for Roffeys in Horne there. The staff there are very helpful.

Thanks for the advice, Lingfield is very close to me, I think I will be paying a visit there soon. Im sorry to hear your payne reserch has came to a standstill, its really hard reserching them, the bloke I spoke to at the east grinstead museum also suggested i get in contact with the Chichester office.

I checked the parish registers for baptisms in Horne from 1806 to 1817 and could not find any Elizabeth Young at all

Have you found Elizabeth on any of the census - that should give her birth place.
What makes you think she was born in Horne?
Horne is a long way from Farnham
