CORDIAL surname in Granard?

Does anyone have any reference to a Robert Cordial from Granard in Co, Longford. His children were Henry ( born 1796), Bridget (1788), Ann (1798), Mary and Elizabeth 1793).
It's rather an unusual surname and any idea's as to the origin of the surname Cordial would be appreciated,

Hello
     I was recently researching my ancestors named Caulfield. The Irish version of the name is McCowell and the Celtic version is Mac Cathmhaoil. When I looked for records of my great great grandfather, I found a listing for him accidently but under the name CORDIAL. I thought since the spelling was so bad at times, that this might be how he was recorded. My GGgrandfather had a brother named Henry also and a son named Patrick Henry as well as a son Bernard. Could be.........?
