More Old Family Photos Found!
« on: Tuesday 18 January 05 12:18 GMT (UK) »

I've been so lucky at obtaining old family photos (nagging relatives helps  Grin).

I received yet another batch this morning in the post of photos nobody knew existed.  These were unearthed by a relative in an old suitcase! and they were named and dated on the back (phew!). This lot includes a photo of my father as a baby.  Amazing stuff.

Regards
Jonathan

that is such good news, Johnathon. It must be very rewarding for you. It will make all the difference to you, so that you can put faces to the names on your family tree. Well done.

Thanks and sorry  Sad JillJ

This is my Dad as a baby (looks like a girl though, or were those bows and things common for boys?  Grin)

Handsome chap!

Boys always wore dresses as babies - made it so much easier for changing nappies!

I think it was pretty common back then for the clothing. I've seen some older photos before and for some reason, most boys looked like little girls. (Maybe it was a baptism thing or something. I don't know.)

I have a couple of photos of my dad as a baby and he's in a dress.  He was born 1917, so they must have all done it in those days.  The trouble is when you see old photo's, you don't know if they are boys or girls.
