James Melbourne - 1813, Belper
« on: Saturday 10 May 08 10:51 BST (UK) »

I am researching the Melbourne family of Belper.

The earliest member I have got back to is James Melbourne.

Born approx 1813, married to Ann (maiden name possibly Walker)

Would love to know his ancestors names and dates etc.

This would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Hello  information on IGI may be of use

Firstly you mentioned a possible Marriage for James to a Ann Walker
Is it the one 27th May 1833 at Duffield Derbyshire??

Also a BIRTH for a James Melbourne Baptism 28th April 1811 at Belper Derbyshire Parents John and Mary

A MARRIAGE of JOHN MELBOURNE and a MARY MILLS (or MILAES)
20th Dec 1813 at Belper or Duffield will check again if you think it a possible.

Hi quidditch seeker,

I have  my Melbourn/Melbourne ancestors as well, but I have just checked and my James is married to an Alice, then Mary then Elizabeth!!  They come from Cambridgeshire!

I haven't finished putting them all into my tree yet, so I will keep and eye open for this one! It certainly rings a bell!
