Hi all could I please ask for a 1841 lookup for

John Sewell  born between 1824-1829 Carlisle or Preston Lancs  depending which later census I use

on 1851 Census east Street Botchergate  Carlisle he is single age 27 cotton Spinner born Presto Lancs

Aged 17 occupation M.S.

John was christened 9 May 1824 Dalston, the son of Joseph and Anne Sewell

Thanks I have seen that birth before and have wondered about it trouble is from 1851 until 1871 John was giving his occupation as cotton spinner by 1881 he was now a railway plate layer ,his age does fluctuate by 8 years from census to census 1851 to 71 he places  is birth in Preston Lancs & 1881 carlisle. John had 4 sons with Mary Douglas ,James William ,John & Robert also a daughter Mary Ann who died age 3

Hi Audrey,

I am sure you are aware that census dates of birth can vary wildly, I have had up to 10year discrepancies with some of my lot.
