Etchingham School

In 1881 my great aunt Ann Carman (nee Nightingale) was a school mistress at Etchingham school where her husband Benjamin was schoolmaster. I wondered if the building still exists or if anyone knows anything about the school?

Hi Ringrose

I have just had a look at www.old-maps.co.uk and it seems the school in 1878 was in the same place it is today which is the road left off the main road after the station going north east.

I pass that road everyday on my way to work and I never knew there was a school there.
