William Joseph Leer was born 1847 Paddington. He married Sophia Kemp b 1845 Lambeth. In 1881 they were living at 35 Saville St London with children Richard b 1869, Albert b 1871, Arthur b 1875, William b 1878 and Joseph b 1880.
Can someone find them in the 1891 and 1901 census.

Hi Ricky and Ian C,
You have both been amazingly helpful. It is much appreciated and I am grateful for the extra info. It is no surprize that another Leer family is lost in a census. Interestingly there is a marriage for a William Joseph SeptQ 1888 possibly to Sophia Matilda Edwards b JunQ 1844 St George Southwark. Maybe Sophia did die or they divorced and the Sophia on the 1901 is his second wife. It is all very confusing. Albert 1891 census could be his cousin who was born MarQ 1870. I will have to check that one out. This Albert was born DecQ 1871.

Fantastic work Jennifer,
I am so pleased you found them. I think Albert and Arthur are back to front as Albert Edward was born DecQ 1871 and Arthur Joseph was born DecQ 1875. William Alfred born SeptQ 1878. The next one is Joseph Gideon born SepQ 1880 and the last one must be Maud Eleanor born JunQ 1883. I think Clara is Charlotte who would be 48. She was the sister in law who lived with them in 1881 and was a charwomen and was with Richard (another son) in 1901.
