Help help help ...... Im being brickwalled!!

Mercy (sometimes called Marcy) Ann Priestley born approx 1858 Leeds (from 91 and 01 census). Ive got her marriage certificate 1884 to John (Jno) White and where they lived in 1891 and 1901. No census material found from 1841 - 1881 :-( ... I know her dad was Joseph Priestley ...from her marriage certificate but cant locate or link any census material with Marcy / Mercy or about Joseph ... any ideas guys?

Hi Richard,

There aren't many birth registrations for Mercy Anns ...

The nearest I see is Mercy Ann Williamson, Sep 1858 Hunslet ...

Coincidence?

Note I'm not excluding this to be a red herring!  Tongue Tongue

that looks interesting Tati

1861 has the family boarding with a Hainsworth family.
Mum - Mary Williamson could be married and daughter Mary Ann Williamson 3 yrs could have a 'c' in her name when you look at the original.

Yes I think it's Mercy Ann on the image, Heywood.

Trouble is I can't find a marriage to a Joseph Priestley Tongue Tongue

Who were the marriage witnesses Richard?

PS. Mary surname Williamson is already down as 'widowed' in 1851 age 22!

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

well done - so was I !

There's a Joseph Priestley death 1870- Holbeck 62 yrs old.

and two possibilities for Mary Priestley 1872 or 1878 both born 1832.
