Hope that someone can help me. I am trying to find any info regarding a Matthew Steel, b 1864, Old Kilpatrick.
His parents were John Steel and Mary McPherson.
There was an older child also called Mathew and he was born 1854 and died in 1856 so I have been told. If anybody can help me with this it would be very much appreciated.

i think margaret must be his sister where dairymans wife comes from i have no idea unless she married someone with the same surname as herself otherwise it has been mistranscribed
here are his parents in 1891

jeanie(jane) age 28. b. drymen. daughter

living at the same address as matthew.

Hi Wozzle,
Thank you very much for all that info.Looking at it all it looks like Margaret and Matthew were single.
There is no mention of the Matthew born 1854 as it was before census?
I will have to try and get the birth and death cert's if at all possible.
I was told by a family member that the family worked on the same farm and they lived in different houses, so by the census it looks like it.
