I've been looking at the Arlington site and there are lots of photos of graves and if you click on the photo it gives a lot of info about the person, but they say they can't list everyone because of privacy, which I don't really understand. What is there is very interesting though.

I'll have to think about sending for the pension record - I don't know how much information there would be on it, but it might be worth it.

I really can't believe how all this has come about - it just goes to show that we should never give up, because things are being added all the time online and it's well worth going back to something to see whether you can get any further.

I wasn't even doing anything in a serious way that day - I hadn't been well and I was bored so I just put his name into google along with civil war and was amazed at what came up!

All I need now is the grave photo - fingers crossed!  Grin

I have just received photos of George and Mary's grave at Arlington from a volunteer at "Find a Grave" and I'm absolutely thrilled!
