William CHENERY bc 1774 Suffolk
« on: Thursday 08 May 08 08:19 BST (UK) »

Hi, this is a bit of a long shot but I'm wondering if anyone can help.
The last people I have in my Chenery tree are
William Chenery born 1774 and Hannah Meen born 1780 in Ipswich, Suffolk.
The only info I can be sure of in the  above statement is that the Names William and Hannah are right (due to a marriage certificate and a census in 1841),  the dates and
Surnames I have yet to confirm.
The children I have to date are
Robert Chenery b1811 Shotley, Suffolk
John    Chenery b1818              Suffolk
James     "         b1821                "
Henry W  "         b1826                "

Can anyone confirm Hannahs surname,
Williams date of birth
if they had any other children
when William died
and William or Hannahs parents

I know thats a lot of questions but any help would make me
a very happy bunny.

Thank you for any time given with these problems

Jooles

Hey Jooles Wink

The name Chenery is also spelt Chinery (in case you didn't know).  There are several on IGI  with parents William and Hannah.

I will nosy around and see what I come up with,  hopefully something Undecided

Cheers
Keeweegal

Do you know what village William was born,  there are a few in Rushmere,   and what year was their marriage?

hi keeweegal

yes I did know of the different spelling but if I'm honest I never
think to look for it. Why do they have to change the spelling of
surnames over the years I don't know!!
Anyway I have no idea where William was born but I have the date
of his and Hannah Meens marriage as 1797 in Suffolk (not all that helpful
I know), Hannah was born in Ipswich.
Thanks for your time with this

Hey Jooles,   When you get time,   check out the Suffolk Surnames Website,  absolutely terrific....there a some other people who are interested in the same name,   perhaps by emailing some of them,  could lead to some facts for you.
