Lilian Palmer 1923 to 1987

Hi,
My welsh line of HUGHES seem to have originated (or at least passed through for a couple of generations) Selattyn in Salop.
Robert Hughes was born ~ 1796 in Selattyn he married Mary Parry in 1823. He had 2 children in Selattyn, Jonathan in 1824 and Robert in 1826.
Mary and Robert moved to Llangollen a few miles away and settled there and had many more children, one being Richard me gggrandfather.
Robert was a shoemaker and I believe he was still alive in 1867 at the time of Richard's marriage but I haven't confirmed this yet.
Any connections I'd love to here from you.
Cheers, Pam

Hi,
my Hughes family appear to have come from selattyn too.
They are generations of castrators, sow gelders, sow cutters!! Gruesome.
If you want details they are on the Shropshire look ups over the last few days - Ann Hughes and William Hughes.
Can't see direct links with your family but selattyn seams very small place.
Regards
Jean Sandra
