I have a marriage in St Johns Thanet between Edward Dale and Elizabeth Dickeson in 1789.
Can anyone tell me where they lived so where Edward Dale came from and if they had a son called Robert Dickeson Dale.

They married 23rd April 1789 at St John the Baptist Margate. Witness by William Bayley and James Dixon both Parish Clerks.
Children baptised St John
Martha Ladd Dale 4th may 1801, born 11th April
Ann Dale 29th August 1803 born 22nd July
Robert Dickenson Dale 19th June 1808, born 16 May
I would assume this to be Edward.

Mother's Name Mary
Date of Baptism 8 Feb 1767
Parish Church St Peter (Broadstairs)
Ceremony Performed By C Willes Vicar
Date of Birth 26 Jan 1767
And he was buried 15th Sep 1849 by W E Hoskins, at St John's.
I think that Elizabeth Dickenson died young and Edward remarried to Susannah Millham 15th Jun 1817. Again witnessed by James Dixon Parish Clerk but also Robert Dickenson - Robert Dickenson Dale??
He appears with Susannah at Bullers Court in Margate on the 1841 census, recorded as an Agr Labourer. Susannah is aged 50 and Edwards age is rounded off to 70.
Elizabeth Dickenson born 25th Jun 1767 was baptised St John 12th July 1767 to William and Sarah Dickenson.
William had married Sarah Ladd 1 Jun 1767 at St Lawrence in Ramsgate

That is absolutely great.
I had guessed that Rob D D must have had these names from both his parents, they seemed to do this a lot at this time and I have done a lot of further research on this assumption. So I am really grateful to you Susannah - I am thrilled.
I go to CCA in July and can continue searching.
Life is hard living away from Canterbury!!

Correct Edward dale of Margate married Mary Bushell by Banns 22nd April 1764 at St Johns Margate. Witnessed by Parish Clerks, Matthias Mummery and Michael Trapp.
As for a baptism, the closest I could find was Edward baptised 1724 to another Edward and Mary

Interestingly Elizabeth Dickenson c 1767 died exactly 1 year later. On Barry White site I found no other Eliz D born but she must have been.
Also checking all the children born and Buried in the William & Sarah family there are several baptisms not mentioned.
I will check Ramsgate records in July.
