On FreeBMD, Dec Q 1844, St Columb District, John Keast GLASSON.
I would like to know his parents if possible, please, I am hoping, it is possibly William and Ann Glasson. In 1851, on census, William is widowed, living with his mother. Children in household are listed as daughter and son in law, they are aged 16 and 6, both unmarried. I think they are the children of William.
Thank you

Hi Althea.
Children in household in 1851, are Fanny16 and John 6. Fanny is 6 with William and Ann, in 1841.
Ann died, 18 7 1845, aged 49 ( OPC database ).
But I couldn't find a baptism, c 1845, for John, to establish his parentage and baptism date.
Lystra ( and variants ), is a 'helpful' name ...

Hi Junket
When looking at the 1841 it seems to me that they would have had earlier children ...William and Ann that is.
I have found these 'extra' children on IGI, all extracted
William Glasson - 25 dec 1822 Cubert Eleanor Glasson 26 dec 1824 east Newlyn Mary Ann Glazon 27 apr 1828 East Newlyn Richard Glasson 6 July 1834 East Newlyn
then this marriage; William Glasson = Ann ROWE 11 apr 1822 Cubert
I cannot see a connection to the 'Keast' name.
William Glasson snr = Lystra Granvil 5 may 1796 Cubert
I wonder why John Glasson b c 1845 was refered to as son-in-law in 1851 and not grandson! Also in 1851 a few houses' up' Ellenor Glasson is working as a servant.
ummm a little mystery LOL

Hi deb,
Thank you, I had the information you have so kindly found, it is the John bc 1845, I am seeking. I don't know, if the BMD birth record is him, but it fits into time frame.
I too wondered about son in law and daughter in law, but think maybe it's a mistake. Whilst searching last week, a whole Parish were either father in laws or mother in laws, irrespective of the sex or age of the individuals .............
Thank you
