Johnson Family - Kings Cross?
« on: Sunday 11 May 08 19:31 BST (UK) »

George Sidney was living in Ilford in the 1901 census:
Head- George, born 1860 Kings Cross, wife Emma born 1865, Plaistow, Ernest Charles 1896 and George Sidney 1893 - 8 Belgrave Terrace, Ley Street, Ilford. - I believe there was at least one other son called Alfred, but can't find him!

So far, I have been unable to find any other references to a George Johnson, born 1860 in Kings Cross in either census or BMD.

I wonder if I am missing something, as I don't know London and wonder if Kings Cross may have been called something else?  Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks.

Hi Linnet,

Genuki says that Kings Cross is in the Parish of St Pancras

HI, There is a marriage in West Ham in 1882 to an Emma Fudge?

You could buy a cert for one of the children to find mothers name to track down a marriage/

Mar qtr 1987 Ernest Charles Johnson reg West Ham  4a 270

Sept qtr 1893 George Sidney Johnson Romford 4a 425

Quit a few for Alfred's.

I have made a little progress.  I sent for the birth certificate for George Sidney (1893).  His father is George Sidney and mother is Emma Yeo.  So far I have not been able to find their marriage.

I checked on Family Search this morning and found this entry for a George  -

Birth:      23 AUG 1860

Christening:     13 SEP 1860      Old Church, Saint Pancras, London, England

Is this my George and could the birth have been Kings Cross?
