Hi MeWMeW,
Not a great deal of help and you may have seen it .. but according to the 1891 census Frank's father John was a Stud Groom in Aske ..

Maybe not a lot of help, but if these stables are in the Richmond area, which was and still is a horse racing area, then you might get a better response on the North Yorkshire board.
