Lydia ANDREWS/GRAY/MORLEY
« on: Sunday 11 May 08 21:38 BST (UK) »

Good evening
I am having great problems in tracing the family of Lydia Andrews who was born in Culpho, Suffolk 1869 - her parents were William and Deborah Andrews.

Lydia apparently married twice: 1.  Jack/John Gray and, according to my mothers jottings, had quite a few children by him, Kate, Olive, Harry, Josephine, Bertha, Archie, Dolly.  I have been on to the 1901 census and have found Kate and Josephine but none of the others.  According to 1901 census they were by then in Croydon Surrey.

Would anyone be able to help me please to (a) see if all these children existed and, if so, their birth dates and any other info relating to them and (b) whether Lydia married these two people - I cannot be any more specific with their names, their birth dates or marriage dates - sorry!

I feel as if I am banging my head on that brick wall again.

Thank you

Loupy

Good evening PaulineJ

Kate was born in 1897 according to the 1901 census and Josephine was only 4 months when the 1901 census was taken.   Embarrassed  They were born in Croydon.  I do not know whether the other children were pre this date or after?

I am sorry but not much to go on here - working blind!!  I do apologise.  Mum has got that "Bertha" was born circa 1910 and died 1933 and Dolly married ? Glynn ? but that is all I have.   Huh

Thank you, in anticipation

Thank you PaulineJ - I take it there is no sign of the other "possible" children anywhere?

Your help is appreciated.

What do you believe the birth order to be?
You can try match up birth/death regs from that, but it's something you can do without Rootschat help.

That is the problem PaulineJ - really don't know.  The only facts we have are what I have already given you.   Angry

I tried FreeBMD over the weekend when I went to the library and got nowhere - I was hoping an "expert" might come up with some answers!!

Thanks Lou x Cool
