Hi, I am looking for a passanger list for a ship ( name unknown) that arrived in New Zealand late 1902 from Tasmania or Victoria.
The names on it that I am look for are: Joseph Henry Smith Miriam Smith Children Arthur Smith Nellie Smith Stella Jane Smith
The children may also have the name PURCELL as a middle name as well.
The ship would have arrived in Auckland late 1902.
I have posted this as the Tasmanian Library have said it would be easier for some one who is able to help me out to look for me.
Thanks for your time.
Eileen

Hi Eileen,
Yes, I noticed that.
But it's always a good idea (I think!) to give cross-references so that the same lookups aren't being done by helpful RootsChatters on two different threads ...
Cheers,
JAP

Hi Christine,
My Gran was b 1872 in Barrow-in Furness, Lancs and bap 1872 in Sheffield, Yorkshire. She went with her family to NZ in 1875 (on the 'Peter Denny'). And came to Oz some time later - and had her first known child in Aus in 1892 in Vic, Aus. I certainly haven't found her passage from NZ to Aus or passages of her siblings who ended up in Vic, nor that of her Mum who died in Vic.
Family stories say that her younger brothers went down to a lake in Melbourne, Aus with a boat and tried to row back to NZ ....
It seems that there are many stories to be told about early NZ/Australia connexions ...
There are some fascinating threads on RC about such connexions ...
Regards,
JAP

Hi All,
The advice from KHP is absolutely right!
But I guess we'd all be interested to know the outcome of the query given that some months have passed since the last post on the thread
All the very very best to all,
JAP
