ITALY: Sartor « on: Monday 12 May 08 07:39 BST (UK) »
Hi, I am still trying to find info on my grandad & his siblings coming to England from Northern Italy between 1915-1922. I have been given a couple of leads which led nowhere. Surely there must be some records somewhere? Help! Thanks.

There should be plenty of records, but you need to know where in Italy (or even Slovenia or Croatia if the family was from Istria). Records are held locally but can be extremely detailed (covering a whole family).
If you go here http://gens.labo.net and type Sartor in the Cognome field and click on the red arrow, you'll see a map of where the name is distributed today.
I cannot find much about them in English records, but if you can find marriage certificates in the UK that will at least give you the name and occupation of your great-grandfather, which may help.
