Elizabeth LEGGATT (spelled any way you can think of) was born in Chichester in 1789. The IGI lists two Elizabeth Leggetts born in Chichester in 1789. If anyone can think of any way (barring necromancy) I can figure out which one she is, I'm open to suggestions.  Huh

Check the burial registers for Chichester.  If you're lucky (and one of the poor Elizabeths was unlucky) you may find one died as an infant with the register identifying her as "daughter of X".

You then have a better chance that your Elizabeth was the one baptised as "daughter of Y".

I'm sure other suggestions will be forthcoming.

Who and where did your Elizabeth marry? Also names of any children might give some pointers as to which is which.
