Been doing a bit of looking up on the web - facial characteristics and gender differences. We have to discount our perceptions which are based on all sorts of learned experiences, etc.
I remember long ago (some portrait class or other) about the prominence of the bit above the nose in men and absent in women. Think I said something about it in my first post. Rog refers to it as the brow ridge. It's called the supercilary arch and this person doesn't have one - so I'm still saying it's a woman.
Indi - having probs finding an outfit for Daisy. Things are a bit limited in the Highlands

I've been looking on the 1900 US census for Daisy....but no such luck...However, there are 2 families in Osborne County, Kansas named Padgett.....but neither family has a member named Daisy or anything like Daisy.
Will look some more

I finally figured out what the actors name was. I went to bed, lay there thinking and thinking, you know, 'whats the name of that song' kind of thing. Anyway it came to me. I lay there, wondering if I would remember it in the morning, or should I get up and scribble it down , so opted for saying his name over and over again until I fell asleep.

Curious as to whether anyone else thinks there is a likeness.

Hi Margaret
There is a likeness, but this guy is better looking, really pretty in fact. Rob is more manly..... But they are similar, glad it came to you, nothing more annoying. Hope you slept well after all that

Yeah, Robs chin is pretty major in comparison
I have a pic of a young man, with smooth complexion, will search it up and put it up, unfortunately it is not an original.
Could not the photo have been sent by a Daisy

here is a pic I have in my collection - unnamed. Unfortunately it was done by the printers for my book and I did give it an ever so slight gausian blur to remove the lines of the printer. Not a brilliant pic but think it shows a smooth complexion and no sideburns. photo taken circa 1884-1888
Aunt has original

I think this is a male.
If the name "Daisy" wasn't written on the back of the photo, I think this person would be accepted as a male.
I think he's just pretty and young. He has a slightly haughty air about him, and looks 'posh' but ..... with that shabby unbuttoned suit. Interesting.
He's going to look like a very butch girl when you put him in a dress and a bonnet
