Charles JONES - The Grove, Sudbury??

Charles Jones ,later Major Charles Jones  15th Hussars -born 7th Nov . 1783/4 died 1843 MAY have been born in Sudbury .Suffolk. his son Ernest Jones Chartist as quoted in his Ernest's diary says his paternal grandfather has houses at Sudbury known as the"grove " and at Clone or Clare , Stratford and /or Stratford on Avon . possibly related to William Brasier Jones of Woodhall. Long Melford.
I do not know where Charles Jones was born or any of his family . Is there an expert that can point me in right direction .he went on to be aide de camp for the King of Hanover which makes you think he may have been well bred .
His first wife was a relative of Lord Braybrook and the niece of the Provost of Eaton . all above from the 1839 diary .

Can i ask you please where did you get the info from that you have posted on here.
Because if you google his name, major Charles Jones there is quite a lot on him, not on the first page but on the second page.

Hi the house names and area i got from the 1839 diary of his son Ernest in the Manchester library . the date a friend got from a scrap of letter dated 1839that thanks his daughter for his birthday wishes for the 7th . it was dated dec .some could be Nov ?
The age i got from his grave and articles that say he was "about " 60 when he died in Jan . 1843 .
i will google as you suggest . My link is thru Lavinia de irujo . i have some fantastic letters from him but i just can't find his family links . the different articles say from welsh marshes now Kent ...i have found no reference to that . i did see somewhere that that his family had been in england for 500 years ,but no reference to where . one of my two brickwalls in relation to him .thanks for looking .

Drove past The Grove twice today  Wink

I researched the Grover and Allen grocers in North Street in Sudbury.  Wetherspoons have opened a pub on the site of the grocery shop.

Mr Grover lived at The Grove (Mr Allen was his nephew).
