Looking for Michie/Henderson
« on: Saturday 03 May 08 14:54 BST (UK) »

I would be grateful if anyone could help me out!

I am trying to track Christian Michie (b1828 Gamrie, Banffshire)and Hugh Henderson(b1829, gamrie, Banffshire).
they were married in 1854 in Gamrie, Banffshire and had two children Barbara b 1854 and Jean/Jane b 1855 both in Gamrie, Banffshire.

I cannot find evidence of Hugh after 1855, I cannot find him on any further census.

I also cannot find Christian after the 1871 census (when she is christian michie).

Barbara Henderson married in 1885 and both parents are recorded as deceased on the marriage certificate.

I cannot find any records of their deaths.

I would be grateful if anyone could help!!

many thanks

Hello

I've just come off www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk - free search between 1871 and 1885 - doesn't bring up deaths for a Christian Michie.  17 Scotlandwide for Christian Henderson - only one in the time period in Banff - but not with the birth year you give - haven't narrowed it down.
Interestingly there's a birth on the IGI for an Ann Henderson to a Hugh Henderson and an Ann Wiseman on 17 Dec 1858 in Gamrie Banff.  Possibly a different Hugh?

One death for a Hugh Henderson in Banff - 1871 to 85 - but he is born in 1810.
