Hi All,

We have a pc that is running so slow. It is an XP and we think some kind of virus has infected it

as nothing seems to work to improve it. My question is this.

Can i delete everything on there and reinstall windows again with the disc i have for it, and if so

how do i do it ? What do i delete first. Sorry i have no Knowledge on this kind of thing.

What virus scans have you run?
Re-installing windows may be unnecessary...

Hi Sue,

Assuming the thing will actually start up, it might be a good idea to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up Windows Task Manager, then click on the Processes tab. This should show you what is using the computer's resources and slowing it down . . . in the "CPU" column, the number shows the percentage of time being used by each process. If you write down the names of the items with the highest numbers in that column, you can google them and find out if they are virus related.

Hope you manage to sort it out.  Smiley
