Hi Smiley where do I look to find a marriage earlier than 1836?  Im looking for Joseph Foster who married Mary.  I've got them in the 1941 census where their children are listed as Jane (5) and Charles (2) in Islington.

Sorry did you mean you have them in 1841? not 1941.

If so is this the christening of their daughter Jane

20th Jan 1836 Islington Christening
Death 14th Sept 1880
Marriage James Pearce....    
23 MAR 1861      Mount Barker, South Australia, Australia

Please note this is a submitted entry on Family Search & would need to be checked for it,s accuracy
As to the marriage of the parents

the IGI is your best bet ...or someone who is able to access the Islington Parish records
