Richard Rowland c 1802 Swansea

Parents Mr & Mrs Rowland (though it does say Mr Rowlands father is David)

yes I saw that one when I found the 1810 one with the mother Mayzod Awbrey.

I guess they are all related somehow.

Anyone got a set of Swansea PArish registers tucked away?

Well that didn't tell us a lot

I think the second name is definutely Aubrey but the first bit....

Be just our luck they didn't register her birth

On 1841 David (aged 40) with Emily (35) is at

H.O.107/677/17 St Marylebone Pg 20 Folio 13

They seem to be childless and no sign of Richard's children staying
with them in the census years.

Well you all have been busy while I was asleep. Many thanks.

Had not been able to find them after 1851 myself.

Eliza died in Pau in France in 1897 and the TDA said she was the widow of Richard. They may have all gone over the Channel.

Dawn - Will ask if you could look at LMA please.

Eliza was a TAYNTON, her father Robert was a surgeon, probably how she met RR. They were into medical, legal, military and church occupations.

The TAYNTONs came from Cowbridge in Glamorgan, as well as RR being Welsh, so had thought the name might have been Welsh. Lucy Aubrey seems to best explanation so far.

what an anti climax.

If Eliza went to France after being widowed it seems likely she took the children with her, including Luxeydubrey.

So the death we found in Holborn was not our Eliza, and hopes of a will in England (with Luxeydubrey mentioned) are nil.

Of course - if Uncle David and his wife are childless (and well off), then it is quite likely they left stuff to their neices and nephews ..... one of which is ..... you've guessed it? LD!
