Hi irret...do you have the photo? If possible, can you rescan it? We don't need the whole photo, just draw a box around the badge and scan it as high as the scanner will go, and post that.

Cheers,
China

Hi irret,

I really looks as though the problem is the definition on the original photo.

Any chance of improving that?

Hi Jap, I think you know me of old, it's a miracle I have even managed to attach it. I see where you are coming from, the photo I have is a copy from the original that my aunt has sent me. I don't think I will be able to get my hands on the original. Embarrassed

Hi irret,

I don't immediately recall past correspondence ...

Personally, I wouldn't be able to attach any image of anything on RC (and never have  Cry ) - much less a good image  Grin

The trouble is that all we seem to be able to see of this badge is its shape ...

Incidentally, do you know the date of your photo?

Your Gpa yes - but that could be quite a range of dates!  (My earliest born Gpa was b 1855!!  Obviously your Gpa is a much younger lad.).

JAP
PS: The only photo I have with a badge (in Australia) turned out (after much magnification) to be a badge worn to commemorate the death of Edward VII in 1910 (by a Ggpa of my children's father)!
PPS: Just noticed that this is my 4000th post.  I ask myself how I have spent so much time on RC  Shocked  Time to get a new hobby ? Roll Eyes

Congrats on your 4.000 postings Smiley
Frederick was born 1895 so my guess is about 1920- 1930 he died 1944 with a direct hit on the house. I believe he was with the Veterinary C during the war.
