Hi Tony

You haven't given any idea of timescale but I found this record on freereg.

baptism for a Cornelius Druery, son of Francis & Hannah at All Saints, Stibbard, 30th September 1751.

Fantastic - that's the one. Other trees have the wrong birth place - parents are right.

Is there any evidence of a marriage and children?  I am looking in particular for a John Druery. Other trees give a birth date of 1756 - which doesn't tie in with the baptism date for Cornelius. However I don't trust the information in the trees. This John married a Francis Sarah Norton - date and place unknown - their children were born at Gorleston (1788-1801), where he died.

Hi Tony

Sorry I haven't had time to search but you might like to search for yourself free of charge at http://freereg.rootsweb.com/cgi/Search.pl

I would suggest with a name like Druery that you tick the soundex box, and just select Norfolk rather that selecting a place in Norfolk, just in case they aren't where you expect them to be.

happy hunting

Thanks a lot for your help.

I found what I was looking for on the site you mentioned - the tree I was trying to fit my info to was wrong - John Druery was the brother of Cornelius not the son.

Might this marriage be any good, on Boyds index.

Hi

Yes I think this is the marriage. Should read Francis Druery to Hannah Graver. Now for the children.

Thanks

Hi Tony!
I just found your message here. For years I am doing research on the Druerys - my husband's family - exactly the line you are also looking for. I have a lot of information and if I can help you - ask me. Sorry, I am not a native speaker and my English might sound a bit strange.
Are you related to the Gorleston line?
Cheers

Hi again Ingrid

Yes I am related - George Druery was my ggg grandfather. If I am right, his daughter Agnes c 16 Oct 1817 Gorlestone and again at St. Hilda's South Shields 14 Jul 1819 married Henry Reah 5 Apr 1840 Sunderland.

Their son John Henry Reah married Elizabeth Hepple Duxfield 1874 and their child Mary (Molly) Reah married Arthur Kingsley Wardroper (my grand father).

I have just written out what I think is the Druery family from Gorlestone. Would you like a copy. If so, please let  me know you're e:mail address.

All the best

Hi Tony!
Welcome to the family!! I am glad to have found a 'lost cousin' of my husband. My husband's ggg grandfather was George Druery, too, and he descends in direct line from George's eldest son John. I am also doing some research on the family history of George's other children Thomas, George +, Robert and Agnes. Of course I would be very interested to have a copy of your researches. It would be great to change information!
My email address: druery@t-online.de
Looking forward to hearing from you
